Meet one of the Trippet Castle ghosts. No one knows their names, but they inhabit the castle in the same way as all the other dolls, visitors, (and the owners, of course), and they have as much right to be there as anyone else. They all have their own sorry little stories – this one is from the nursery in the round tower. She killed herself when her lover died. It is quite hard for a doll to commit suicide and takes a great deal of determination and practice. She managed it in the end though – one has to be persistent when one is making a statement! She created her own costume to go a-haunting in – it is made from the wrapping of the one bouquet of flowers her lover ever bought for her, and the ribbon which was around the only box of chocolates he ever gave her. Tragic, isn’t it? If only she had fallen in love with one of the teddy bears instead – but sadly she fell for the one toy in the tower who was absolutely destined to come to an early end – his name was Humpty Dumpty.
A sorry little tale

I quite like this haunted little doll.
Ahh – that’s good – she needs all the fans she can get after such a tragic existence! There will be more ghosties along next week – I have made all the dolls but dressing them is a bit of a challenge. Lovely to hear from you again after my long absence. I will be over to your place in a bit to see what you’ve been up to!
🙂 You should write up your stories and illustrate them with sketches of your dolls, that was fabulous and Miss Trippet is gorgeous!
You are so sweet! something weird happened to me recently and now all my stories are coming out in rhyme, so your idea looks like a possibility.
Great little short story with a surprise ending. Very clever!
thanks so much!
LOL. I love it. Poor Humpty…poor Miss Trippet. 😦 She’s so adorable.
Thank you Darling – she looks a bit smug to be a tragic icon though, don’t you think?
She does a bit, but then that’s part of her charm. 🙂
