little bride doll

little bride doll

i made this one this morning as an experiment – partly because the couple downstairs are getting married today . i thought maybe a little bride doll waiting for them when they come back would be cute. she is made from a chopstick and a couple of wooden beads, plus fabric, lace and satin ribbon. she has a little circlet of silver and tiny fresh water pearls on her head, a heart button on her bodice and a bouquet to hold. she is about 9″ tall, standing on a stone from hastings beach. I’m going to wrap her up in cellophane and leave her outside their door.

  1. Oh, how sweet, the blushing bride. She’s charming. I used to collect bride dolls. So I’m especially fond of this one, Colette. Does she have a name?

I think she should be Becky – the name of the girl downstairs! So glad you like her, Elizabeth.

  3. That’s so sweet of you! And she’s a very delicate doll. Can’t help wondering why she doesn’t want to open her eyes, though…. hmmm.

Tell me what you think
