Let me introduce my three new creations, each made in and effort to use up things I already have without buying anything else in. The studio stash is now so enormous that it’s in danger of engulfing us all, and I needed a way of using up some of the bits and pieces I have been religiously ‘rescuing’ from being thrown out. I realised whilst working on them that I am not only recycling fabrics and beads, but past passions and interests of mine, pulling everything together into one object. There is design and sewing in the dressmaking, jewellery in the application of beads and in the way the dolls are jointed, clay, card making, flower making and painting, all of these past obsessions have at last managed to coalesce into something that makes me happy.

Oh, how adorable. 🙂
Thank you! I think they are a little bit spooky, but that’s okay because fortunately I like spooky.
Wow! Your dolls are like some cool girls! Love them!
Thanks Valerycreates – I was a bit nervous about letting them out – wasn’t sure if people would ‘get’ them. But so far they have had a warm reception, and I couldn’t be happier. I’m coming over to your place now, to have a look around!
I am not surprised that you would be pleased with your creation (and you should). I find that working with what is at hand often leads to the most inspired outcome.
that is very true – I work better with limitations, be it time or finance or whatever. I find it makes me focus whereas without those constraints I get distracted and tend to move on to the next thing too quickly. I love your boxes, by the way.
