Now, I’m not sure what is going to happen here. This post was on a blog I follow: mymakedoandmendyear.wordpress.com It really got my attention and at at the end of it I wanted to click on something, but ‘Like’ didn’t seem appropriate, and the comments I would have made had already been made by others. I am trying out the ‘Press This’ button to see if it reposts to my blog. Here’s hoping.
It brings home that we each tend to see only our little corner of the world, and it’s easy to forget about the big picture, particularly the unpublicised big picture, ie the things that are not shoved in front of our faces in big grabby headlines, such as the ins and outs of celebrity relationships or wardrobe malfunctions.
There is important and unpleasant stuff out there, which of course we would all rather not look at, but in small ways we can help improve some things, without actually having to stick our heads up over the parapet. One of the simplest ways is thinking about what we buy, and what we buy into when we make a purchase.
