Rag dolls definitely qualify as small comforting things. This one is made from everything recycled, except for the hair. The body is from an old pillow case, as is the dress, with raw edge applique roses from some old curtains. There is a petticoat (which you can’t see here) but that too is made from an old curtain, net this time. It took me about half an hour to make the pattern and get the body in the proportions I wanted, and the rest of the afternoon to make the clothes, jewellery and generally faff about with her. I had a wonderful day doing it, although the flat is a tip, because I should have cleaned, and washed up from last night, and all sorts of other things, none of which I managed to do.
